Who We Are
Heyat is a community gathering space for Shia Muslim families. Our programs mark the occasions of the Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them) — their births, their sacrifices, and the lessons they left behind.
We come together in grief and in joy. Muharram and Arbaeen bring us to mourn Imam Husayn (AS) through elegies and reflection. The wiladat celebrations of the Imams and the Ahlul Bayt bring us together in happiness, with poems of praise and gratitude.
Our Programs
Each gathering typically includes:
- A lecture grounded in the occasion and relevant to our lives today
- Recitation of poetry — marsiya or madah — by community reciters
- Time for families to connect and share a meal together
Programs are open to all. Children are welcome and encouraged to attend with their families.
Supporting the Programs
These gatherings are made possible entirely through voluntary donations from our community. There are no fees to attend. If you benefit from these programs and wish to contribute, your donation — however small — goes directly toward the costs of hosting, materials, and bringing speakers and reciters to our community.
You can donate at any gathering or reach us at [email protected] to arrange a contribution.
